Josh Brolin On ‘Deadpool 2’ Being ‘Funnier Than The First One’

Josh Brolin appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo over the weekend and when sitting down to speak with Good Morning America, he teased the Deadpool sequel.

Josh Brolin was cast to play the immensely popular Cable in the R-rated sequel to the successful 2016 movie. The actor, who also plays Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, teased that he just might “break the fourth wall” in Deadpool 2.

“Not yet, but I may. It’s not that I don’t break the fourth wall. There’s a lot of stuff going on in Deadpool that’s very surprising, and that will be very satisfying when you see it.”

Josh Brolin also mentioned that the sequel is going to be even funnier than the original film.

“To me, it’s even funnier than the first one. When they asked me to do it, I was like ‘I’m doing the Thanos thing right now, and should I do it?’ And my wife just said ‘Read it. Why are you even thinking? Just read it.’ And I read it and I laughed harder than I’ve laughed in a very long time. So it’s funny. Cable can be very funny. He can be a lot of things, but he can also be very funny.”

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Shioli Kutsuna, Julian Dennison and Jack Kesy as the film’s villain.

Deadpool 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
