‘Avengers: Endgame’ Theory Questions The Power Of Josh Brolin’s Thanos

An interesting new Avengers: Endgame theory questions why Josh Brolin’s Thanos didn’t snap the titular team.

Thanos’ motives in Avengers: Infinity War ended up being different than his comic book counterpart. All Josh Brolin’s Thanos simply wanted to do was bring balance so planets could have enough resources to survive. Thanos ended up succeeding in Infinity War and now the Avengers will try and reverse what he did in the upcoming follow-up, Avengers: Endgame.

Despite his motives, a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan on Reddit may have spotted a plot hole in both Infinity War and Endgame regarding Josh Brolin’s Thanos. The theory questions why Thanos doesn’t just snap the Avengers when they attempt an attack on him, a move he could’ve also pulled in Infinity War. The theory points out that Josh Brolin’s Thanos had no problem killing Loki at the beginning of the film, so why would he stay true to his motives once he got the Infinity Gauntlet? You can read the entire theory for yourself below:

“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame will be released in theaters on April 26, 2019.
