‘The Batman’: Josh Gad Continues To Tease Penguin Role

Seems that Josh Gad will continue teasing the role of The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ The Batman until exploding, wind-up penguins start making their way through the streets of Gotham City.

This is nothing new, as you know. A few times last year, as far back as February, actor Josh Gad teased meetings with DC and got fans speculating that he would be playing the role of Oswald Cobblepot in Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman film. Nothing has ever been confirmed about this one way or another. But fans being fans are going to speculate nonetheless. Plus, this hasn’t stopped Josh Gad from teasing the Penguin role.

Take last night, for example. Out of nowhere, Josh Gad on Sunday evening took to his Twitter to post the simple message of “Good Knight.” Okay, nothing too strange about that, right? Oh, and accompanying this was a gif of Burgess Meredith as the Penguin from the 1960s Batman TV series. Here, have a look.

Just continuing to stir the pot, this Josh Gad. Now actors do this a lot when it comes to auditioning for roles, but Josh Gad in particular has done this several times in regards to the Penguin. Until there’s an announcement from either Warner Bros. or maybe Matt Reeves himself, we have no idea if Gad will indeed play Oswald Cobblepot in the upcoming Batman film. Still, this won’t stop fans from speculating and talking. In the end, isn’t that all that’s needed?
