Josh Gad Becomes The Penguin For Matt Reeves & Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ In New Image

Josh Gad steps up to become the villainous Gotham crook The Penguin for Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman in this new image.

Ever since Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves confirmed Robert Pattinson as the new Bruce Wayne for DC on the silver screen, fans have been wondering who Batman will face in this new cinematic incarnation. Rumor has it that there will be a rogues gallery of villains featured for the Caped Crusader to tackle in Matt Reeves’ new Batman trilogy.

One of these villains is The Penguin. Ever since Danny DeVito portrayed him for Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, there has yet to be been another depiction of the infamous Gotham mafioso in a feature film. One of the fan favorite actors to pick up Danny DeVito’s mantle is Josh Gad. Josh Gad certainly has not just the looks but also the chops to play The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman and fan art is surfacing more than ever, showing us how he could look should he be cast.

You can check out how Josh Gad could look as The Penguin for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman below:

So what do you think? Would Josh Gad be a good choice to play The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman? Let us know down in the comments below!

Plot details for Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman are still under wraps, though the project seems to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader as he tackles several of his more traditional enemies such as The Penguin and Catwoman. Josh Gad isn’t the only actor fans want to see in Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. Other names being tossed around are Vanessa Hudgens and Jack Black to take on the role of Catwoman and The Penguin, respectively. Josh Gad would certainly be a great pick if DC and Warner Bros. are looking for a younger actor to keep around for a trilogy. Not only that, but Josh Gad has expressed his interest in playing The Penguin on multiple occasions. However, the decision ultimately falls on Warners, DC and Matt Reeves to make that happen.

Robert Pattinson was recently confirmed by Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves as the new Bruce Wayne, effectively replacing Ben Affleck. Rumor has it that Robert Pattinson was battling out the part with X-Men star Nicholas Hoult, but Warner Bros. went with Robert Pattinson in the end. While DC is set to restart the character’s story on the big screen, Matt Reeves has confirmed that his film will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic. Matt Reeves’ and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is also allegedly the first in a planned trilogy, much like the films that Christopher Nolan directed with Christian Bale. There is still no news whether or not Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be part of the DCEU or if his Batman will be featured in his own cinematic universe.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Matt Reeves’ film, Robert Pattinson’s process to become the Caped Crusader, whether if we’ll see Josh Gad as The Penguin, and the future of the DCEU.
