Joss Whedon discusses his favorite kinds of 'Star Wars' movies at the red carpet premiere for 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'.
The event was live-streamed globally and many fans tuned in to see the arrivals of all the actors who have every worked on any of the Star Wars movies.
Director and writer extraordinaire Joss Whedon spoke with Variety on the red carpet. While there, he talked about what type of Star Wars movie he prefers.
“I like the fact that this is sort of an ancillary tale and isn’t as beholdened as the structure of the big monument pictures, so you know I like the little side tales, there about these little scrappy people that history forgets, those are my favorite kinds.”

It sounds like Rogue One is right up his alley, then. Recently, fellow director and fanboy, Kevin Smith, also sang the film’s praises and compared Rogue One to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmen, Mads Mikkelsen, and more. The film is in theaters this Friday, December 16.
