Jumanji actress Karen Gillan recently spoke about the issue explaining there is a reason behind her outfit and ultimately it will all make sense.
Gillan recently spoke about the issue with The Hollywood Reporter, where she explained she’d had a similar issue previously when she was on Doctor Who, but ultimately it will all make sense:
“I’ve experienced something similar when I worked on Doctor Who and there was such an uproar about my costume when that was first revealed, so I thought it was happening all over again… But I have to say, I’d never take on a role that was truly gratuitous for no reason. There’s a really valid reason why she’s wearing that. My character is really not happy about it!”
The actress also spoke up on the issue via Twitter when the picture was originally released, saying pretty much the same thing:
Gillan promises the payoff is worth it and that there is absolutely a solid reason for it, but for any further information, we’re probably going to have to wait for the film to come out, unless, of course, Columbia Pictures decide to touch on the subject in the as-yet-unreleased trailer.
Jumanji, starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas, is scheduled to hit the big screen December 22nd, 2017.
