‘Jurassic World 2’ Director Promises Better Footwear For Bryce Dallas Howard

Honestly, one of the most frustrating aspects of Jurassic World were the complaints that were thrown toward Bryce Dallas Howard’s character, Claire. What were the complaints about? The fact that she was wearing heels throughout the movie.

With her footwear in mind, director J.A. Bayona promises that Howard will be wearing more practical shoes this time around. After all, a woman should be comfortable while running from dinosaurs.

“Claire [Bryce Dallas Howard] doesn’t wear high heels in this movie.”

That’s good, because there’ll be a lot more running and dinosaur fighting in the sequel.

“There will be new dinosaurs. Finding that proper balance between what the audience is expecting and new stuff is always a challenge in doing a sequel.”

Bayona says that the untitled Jurassic World sequel is on a much bigger scale than his last couple of movies, A Monster Calls and The Impossible. He says Jurassic is “the biggest production I have ever done; it’s massive, and it’s a learning experience. I’ve never done anything like it.”

Bayona also likens the Jurassic World 2 script with The Orphanage and how the sequel is a collaborative effort and he’s just trying not to screw it up.

“You know, they’ve all seen The Orphanage, and the [Jurassic] script has many things in common with the movies I’ve done so far. The thing is, I also consider this job to be a collaborative filmmakers’ effort, you know? You have Steven [Spielberg], you have Colin, you have Frank, a producer who is also a director, and it’s their baby. So I am very much aware that I need to take care of their baby as well as possible.”

Jurassic World 2 begins filming in March 2017.
