In October 2015, Warner Bros. announced plans to release Zack Snyder’s Justice League in two parts, with the filmmaker set to helm both installments. While Justice League Part One was scheduled to be released in theaters on November 17, 2017, Part Two was initially set for a June 14, 2019, theatrical debut.
Of course, the divisive reception and underwhelming box office performance of both Batman v Superman and Justice League prompted a reshuffling of the film production staff at Warner Bros. being reshuffled while the studio reassessed their plans for the DC Extended. As a result, Warner Bros. has now prioritized standalone films over a Justice League film and plans for Zack Snyder’s sequel, obviously, never materialized.
While Warner Bros. currently has no plans to release another Justice League film, the studio is still working with DC on a number of other projects based on DC Comics superheroes. These projects include The Batman, The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
