While promoting 'Justice League', Ben Affleck proclaims that playing The Batman for the DC Extended Universe is a childhood dream come true.
While promoting Justice League, Affleck talked about why playing Batman fulfills one of his biggest childhood fantasies:
“Playing Batman was a boyhood dream come true for me, so playing Batman alongside the Justice League? I mean, what can you say? The first time we all stood on set in costume, we just looked around at each other and you could tell it was a big moment for each one of us.”
Affleck’s future as Batman post-Justice League has been a topic for debate among comic book movie fans. After he stepped out of the director’s chair for the standalone film The Batman, many started questioning whether or not his time as Batman is coming to an end.
Although Affleck’s future within the DC Extended Universe will be at the center of speculation for the time being, he is certainly grateful for the privilege of joining an elite group of actors who have had the privilege of playing Batman.
Here is the synopsis for Justice League:
“Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.”
The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
