The recent rumor that Doctor Strange writer Jon Spaihts is currently rewriting the script for Justice League Dark is indeed false.
It was revealed earlier this week that Warner Bros. is headed back to the drawing board on the project after executives were left underwhelmed by recent pitches from potential directors. While it remains a mystery as to who exactly all of the directors pitching their take on the project was, one that was reportedly in the mix was Andy Muschietti, the director behind Mama and the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s IT.
Justice League Dark is being produced by Scott Rudin. The project has been previously described as smaller and a more intimate character-driven piece than other superhero films, it has been said to play a major role in the DC Extended Universe. The plot is expected to focus on the team members from the comics including John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon.
Justice League Dark does not currently have a release date. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Justice League Dark as we learn it.
