Jesse Eisenberg made his first appearance as Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman, which concluded with the genius villain being incarcerated for his crimes. However, the post-credits of the follow-up film Justice League revealed Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor escaped the prison and summoned Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke aboard his yacht to discuss the possibility of forming a team of supervillains.
Of course, plans for a Justice League sequel were suspended after the disappointing box office performance of the first film prompted Warner Bros. to reassess their plans for the DCEU. Since then, there has been little to no word on a Justice League sequel, but Jesse Eisenberg stated he has nothing left on the table for his Lex Luthor and expressed how much fun he had with the role:
“Do I have anything left on the table? No, never. No. But I loved it. I mean, I loved every moment of it. It was great. I would not have thought of myself for it. So, to me, it was all, like, house money I would call it.”
