‘Justice League’ Has A ‘Superman: The Movie’ Cameo

From the looks of things, Justice League has a cameo from one of the supporting actors of the Christopher Reeve-era Superman movies.

About a year ago, rumors surfaced that Superman: The Movie actor Marc McClure – who played Jimmy Olsen – would be making a cameo in Justice League. Now, it looks like recently-revealed footage from the movie’s ad campaign have shown where we’ll be seeing McClure make his appearance.

In some recently-released Justice League footage from the Cyborg promo, a shot of a police officer in a state of shock is shown before he’s rescued by Victor Stone himself, who arrives in the nick of time to save his life from an exploding tank. As it turns out, a fan recently put two and two together and realized that this is actually McClure’s cameo:

The DCEU’s version of Jimmy Olsen was killed off by terrorists at the beginning of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice after he used a tracking device to tip Superman off to his and Lois Lane’s location, which is something that proved to be contentious with fans. So having a different version of Jimmy Olsen be saved by another superhero seems like something to make up for it.

Justice League unites on November 17, 2017. The superhero epic features a cast that includes Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne (Batman), Henry Cavill as Kal-El/Clark Kent (Superman), Gal Gadot as Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa as Orin/Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Ezra Miller as Barry Allen (The Flash), Ray Fisher as Victor Stone (Cyborg), Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, J. K. Simmons as Commissioner James ‘Jim’ Gordon, Joe Morton as Dr. Silas Stone, Amber Heard as Mera, Julian Lewis Jones as King Atlan, Billy Crudup as Dr. Henry Allen, and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. Michael McElhatton is also in the movie in an unspecified role.
