Remember the black suit briefly seen in Man of Steel? And then not again until a deleted scene from Justice League? Remember Bruce Wayne’s Knightmare dream of an enraged Superman who could, as he told Alfred, burn the whole place down if he wanted? Well, one fan managed to bring that world to life in some fan-created footage of Justice League. In it, the footage combines the crumbling landscapes and seas seen in Christopher Nolan’s Inception, the Knightmare scenario color palette from Dawn of Justice, and a world in which a black suit Superman reigns.
As has been seen with other videos floating around online in relation to Justice League, with a bit of time and effort, fans can get creative and work to restore or create scenes that were only at the conceptual stage, unfinished scenes, or using whatever hints they could from director Zack Snyder’s many discussions of his DC projects when responding to fans on Vero. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing today with a fan cut of Justice League. In this world, not only is the world in ruin, but Superman in his black suit from The Death of Superman arc towers above it all.
Also, remember how Lois was Clark’s world, and in that Knightmare scene, Batman was apparently responsible for taking her from him? Well, now Superman’s time has come to reign supreme. It’s a nice way to pay off what was set up in Dawn of Justice, but more than that, also put Superman in the black suit during Justice League and not just in a deleted scene only found on the home release. Here, have a look for yourself in the video below:
Considering how much of Superman’s arc and return in Justice League felt very truncated and cut off at the knees, this is a nice little fan-edit to not just build out Superman’s time on screen, but also pay off the inclusion of the black suit and give us a look at that enraged Kryptonian floating over a ravaged landscape. This may not exist in Justice League in its current form, but it’s a nice edit of what could have been.
And furthermore, have you seen any fan edits or changes to Justice League that, in your mind, improve or change the experience of the film? Let us know your thoughts on this fan addition to Justice League in the comments below.
Justice League is available now on Digital HD, 4K, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
