We Tried The ‘Justice League’ VR Experience And It Was Awesome

The video game space is slowly entering a new realm with Virtual Reality capable machines like the Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, Samsung Gear VR and the HTC Vive. Warner Bros. has taken advantage of this trend for Justice League and in my humble opinion, they have done it masterfully.

Justice League VR takes full advantage of this technology and allows you to become some the greatest superheroes of all time. You get to chose between Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash. Picking which hero to use was a hard choice, but ultimately it came down to Batman or The Flash.

Becoming the Fastest Man Alive is cool and all, but I couldn’t decline stepping behind the wheel of the Batmobile and blowing things up, and boy did I make the right decision because it was awesome. As Batman, you drive under bridges, shoot and destroy vehicles that are chasing you or are in your way. If you ever wanted to become Batman, I believe this is the closest you’ll ever get without breaking any major laws.

With VR being a new concept, you should go into this game expecting a few glitches. I used the HTC Vive and at moments the hand set wouldn’t connect with the radar making it extremely difficult to navigate the Batmobile. But, even though it lacked in navigational control, the VR headset was pretty receptive. While the game isn’t with out its flaws, I have to say I had a great time playing it.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Batman needs to work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against a newly awakened threat. Take part in fully immersive simulations to test the abilities of the new and improved Batmobile and of prospective league members: Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. You can’t save the world alone.

Justice League VR is out now on mobile platforms and is available to play as long as you have a VR headset.
