Zack Snyder fans are still waiting for Warner Bros. to release the already mythical Justice League Snyder Cut. As you may or may not know, Zack Snyder exited Justice League due to a family tragedy. At that point in time, Justice League was about to be done but when Avengers director Joss Whedon took the helm, several reshoots were done to further satisfy what Warner Bros. and DC ultimately envisioned for the film, adding a different tone than the one Zack Snyder was working on. Nevertheless, it’s heavily rumored that the cut Zack Snyder was working on was indeed completed.
A still from a deleted scene seemingly featured in the Justice League Zack Snyder Cut has surfaced online and it shows Ben Affleck’s Batman and Jeremy Irons’ Alfred Pennyworth. Check out the photo from Justice League below.
Unfortunately for fans of Ben Affleck, the actor has confirmed he will not be returning to reprise his role for the Matt Reeves-directed standalone Batman film. Plot details for The Batman are under wraps, though the project has been rumored to be centered on a younger Caped Crusader. While Warner Bros. is set to restart the character’s story on the big screen, Matt Reeves has confirmed that The Batman will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.
The Batman is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. The list also includes a Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad, Aquaman 2, The Trench, Black Adam, Supergirl, Plastic Man and New Gods.
Following Shazam!, which is now playing, the DCEU continues with Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Matt Reeves’ Batman film, Ben Affleck’s replacement as the Caped Crusader and the future of the Justice League.
