Recently, storyboard artist Jay Oliva discussed Justice League and even talked about what Snyder originally had in mind for the first act. Snyder called Oliva to do his own past on the film’s action-packed ending. When Oliva checked out the finished product, he was caught off-guard by some of the post-reshoot additions and subtractions. You can read an excerpt of Oliva’s comments down below:
“I did from the time they arrived to the nuclear reactor all the way to the end of the fight… There’s a couple stuff that when I watched the film I was like, ‘Well, what happened to that?’ because I was really looking forward to seeing it because I’ve done some crazy stuff. I tried to top what I’ve done with Superman. When Superman comes back, I had done some really crazy stuff like Superman unhinged.”
Oliva also discusses the fact that much of the origin story for Cyborg in Justice League was significantly edited down. He was also caught off guard by the addition of the Russian family. You can listen to more of Oliva’s interview down below:
Can you imagine Superman using all of his might in a more unhinged take if the original Zack Snyder version of Justice League came into fruition? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news in the DC Extended Universe.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
