‘Justice League’ Director Zack Snyder Reacts To Zachary Levi’s ‘Shazam!’

Zack Snyder was a big presence in the DC Extended Universe when Man of Steel kicked off the worlds of DC. Zack Snyder directed Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League. The director has since departed from the DCEU and moved on to an original zombie project he is currently working on. Zack Snyder was recently asked about his thoughts on Shazam! on Vero from a fan. The director said he had not seen it at first, but then replied a few days later with an answer. You can view the Justice League director’s response to Shazam! below.

It appears that Zack Snyder enjoyed Zachary Levi as Shazam. Zack Snyder’s response sounds similar to many critics and audiences who have agreed that Zachary Levi’s Shazam! is a fun film. Zachary Levi starred as the superhero form of Billy Batson after saying the magical word, “Shazam!” Zack Snyder last worked on Justice League, but there are still some fans that hope to see him return to the DCEU. Even though audiences may have been split on the story-telling of Zack Snyder’s DC films, many fans have enjoyed his choices for the superheroes in the DCEU from Batman, The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. Now, Zachary Levi can join this popular roster of DC superheroes as Shazam. Zack Snyder’s next project is Army of the Dead, a zombie film starring Dave Bautista. Zack Snyder’s last zombie film, Dawn of the Dead, was well received by both critics and fans, so perhaps this will be a good direction for the director.

“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”

Directed by David F. Sandberg Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.

Shazam! is now playing in theaters!
