RUMOR: Justin Hartley Returnng As Green Arrow For Arrowverse Crossover

A new rumor claims that Smallville star Justin Hartley is reprising his role as Green Arrow for the next Arrowverse crossover event.

As the cast of Crisis on Infinite Earths continues to expand, one of the many roles that is being looked at for the five-part event is a return for Justin Hartley as the Green Arrow. Actors returning from the Superman prequel series Smallville, the predecessor to the Arrowverse, is something that has been speculated upon for a while now, but it seems like buzz is continuing to build for Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow to make a comeback.

You can check out the report about Justin Hartley returning as Green Arrow for the Arrowverse crossover event below.

First appearing in Smallville‘s sixth season, Justin Hartley’s take on the Green Arrow is The WB’s take on the character before the network switched over to The CW. Initially a rival for Lois Lane’s affections, Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow and Tom Welling’s Superman became allies and co-founded that universe’s version of the Justice League of America alongside The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. It remains to be seen if the other Justice League members will appear, but if the rumors are true, Tom Welling won’t be the only Smallville hero seen in the highly-anticipated Arrowverse crossover event.

The upcoming Arrowverse crossover event has been teased since the very first episode of The Flash, where a newspaper headline from the year 2024 revealed the Barry Allen’s fate was to disappear during a “crisis.” However, the fifth season finale of the Grant Gustin series accelerated this when the original newspaper headline changed the date of the event from 2024 to 2019. To add to this, the seventh season finale of Stephen Amell’s Arrow set up Oliver Queen’s role in the next crossover by having him join the Monitor on a mission to warn other worlds of the crisis, as part of the arrangement the Emerald Archer made in order to save the lives of both The Flash and Supergirl.

Crisis will span two quarters and consist of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. The Arrowverse crossover will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.

Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Smallville star Justin Hartley, Green Arrow and the Arrowverse.
