See ‘The Boys’ Star Karl Urban As Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Successor

Billy Butcher's a supe!

The Boys star Karl Urban leaves the series behind to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in an impressive new concept design.

While he can currently be seen fighting superheroes in Amazon’s The Boys, Karl Urban replaces Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in a new poster imagining the actor’s debut as a mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obviously, Urban briefly stepped into the MCU during Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok as Skurge, but the new art offers up the idea of what his Wolverine could look like. Thanks to the impressive beard he sports in The Boys, Urban is nearly ready to follow up Hugh Jackman.

Obviously one of the most important parts of Wolverine’s hero status are the iconic Adamantium claws he’s acquired after a painful experiment in his past. The new design sees Karl Urban wield the claws while smoking a cigar, one of Wolverine’s vices. It’s hard to deny that The Boys star looks like the right person to replace Hugh Jackman in the role for the MCU going forward. Although if it meant getting rid of Billy Butcher, maybe it’s best to wait a few years. Take a look below.

Would you like to see Karl Urban leave The Boys to play Wolverine in the MCU? Do you think the star would be a good replacement for Hugh Jackman? Who else do you think would be a good pick for the mutant? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for the second season of The Boys:

The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Aya Cash, and Colby Minifie.

The Boys is available on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Boys, its upcoming spinoff at Amazon and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
