During a recent interview with People.com, Kat Dennings opened up a bit about Natalie Portman returning to the MCU and her wielding Thor’s hammer. In it, she called the decision genius and something that was accurate to the comics:
“I love that. I think that’s genius. It is so smart, and it’s accurate [from the comics]. I am so excited. As a fan of Marvel projects, I am so excited.”
Later on, Kat Dennings praised director Taika Waititi and said that she was excited to see what he would do for the upcoming Thor film. She did, however, continued to reinforce the fact that she doesn’t know if she’ll be back with Natalie Portman for Thor: Love and Thunder:
“I hope so! We’d all like to know that answer, I don’t know as of right now. I would like to, I am a huge fan of [director Taika Watiti], he’s one of my favorite directors of all time. He’s incredible. So purely from a thing of I love all of those people, I love Marvel and I would love to go back. I also really want to work with him, but I don’t know.”
From the look of things, even if Kat Dennings won’t be in Thor: Love and Thunder she is still excited to see what they do by giving Natalie Portman the hammer.
Along with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis and most of the other human characters that we met in Thor and Thor: The Dark World were absent from Thor: Ragnarok. But from the look of things, this upcoming Thor film is bringing back some of the old cast. So perhaps Kat Dennings return isn’t all that farfetched of an idea.
What do you all make of this? Are you as excited as Kat Dennings to see Natalie Portman wield Thor’s hammer? Should they bring her character back? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
