Actress Kate Winslet discusses joining the world of James Cameron's Pandora in the next installment of the 'Avatar' franchise.
Working with Cameron for the first time since 1997’s Titanic, Winslet will be playing a character by the name of Ronal, one of the many sea creatures from the alien world of Pandora.
Winslet recently revealed that the character will be brought to life via motion capture, but will not have all that much screen-time compared to the main cast.
“And in reality actually I only have around a month with all the key cast. It’s not a gigantic role; it’s a very pivotal role but it isn’t gigantic.”
Filming is currently underway on the next two Avatar sequels, as director James Cameron plans to shoot Avatar 2 & 3 and then take a break before resuming production on the next two installments.
Avatar 2 is directed by James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Matt Gerald, and newcomers Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin, Britain Dalton, Duane Evans Jr., Filip Geljo, Jamie Flatters, Bailey Bass, Trinity Bliss, and Jack Champion.
Avatar 2 will hit theaters on December 18, 2020.
