Rapper Kenrick Lamar is set to create music for the Marvel's upcoming Black Panther which is set to hit theatres in February.
Lamar teased the project during the music video for his song for “LOVE” during a shot that features a clapperboard with the text “B.Panther Soundtrack Coming Soon”. You can check out the full video below.
It’s quite unlikely that Lamar will be headlining and producing the entire soundtrack due to his busy schedule, which means fans will have to settle for a new single, along with a video. Beyond that, the song could be featured in a new trailer for the film.
Marvel has never had a music video or song that promotes a film, so this will be a first for the studio.
Black Panther follows T’Challa who, after the events of Captain America: Civil War, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kani.
Marvel’s Black Panther opens in theaters on February 16, 2018.
