Kevin Feige Comments On ‘Black Panther’ Winning First Three Marvel Oscars

Kevin Feige recently addressed the three Oscars wins that Black Panther won during last evening’s Academy Awards ceremony and confirmed all of our suspicions: it is indeed good to be the king.

Following the 91st annual Academy Awards, President of Marvel Studios and undisputed King of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige, attended the Governor’s Ball, where he was asked to comment on Black Panther winning the studio’s first three Oscars in one night. This according to The New York Times own Kyle Buchanan on Twitter.

In response, Kevin Feige said the following:

“It feels amazing, for those in particular.”

You can see Buchanan’s specific tweet below:

Kevin Feige was specifically referring to Ruth Carter and Hannah Beachler. Both helped make Oscars history when Black Panther became the first superhero film to take home three Academy Awards. The first statue for Black Panther went to Ruth Carter, who won in the department of Best Costume Design. Hannah Beachler took top honors in Best Production Design and in doing so became the first ever African American female to do so in that category.

Black Panther composer Ludwig Goransson rounded out the three wins when he was recognized for Best Original Score.

What do you think of Kevin Feige and his comments regarding last night’s Oscar wins? Were you surprised by any of the Black Panther honors? Let us know all your Oscar-related thoughts in the comments below!

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, John Kani, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Black Panther is now available on Digitial HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
