Kevin Feige Addresses The 23-Year-Gap Between ‘Captain Marvel’ & ‘Avengers: Endgame’

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently shared details about the gap between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

Kevin Feige recently addressed the issue of time between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame to give more insight as to where Brie Larson’s character stands when she joins the Avengers. Captain Marvel was set in 1995 with her journey beginning way before the Avengers were formed. In her debut as one of Marvel’s strongest superheroes, Carol Danvers embarks on a journey that helped her discover a little more about who she is and where she stands in the Kree-Skrull war. Kevin Feige shares mord on this in his interview with CinemaBlend.

“Once people see the movie, the answer is a part of it. She’s been dealing with this unjust war, as it’s referred to at one point in the movie, between the Kree and the Skrulls – she’s vowed to help them find a home, she’s vowed to come after the Supreme Intelligence. So how long that took and how hard that was, it could certainly be one answer to that question”.

What fans won’t know for a while is how long this resolution or war could take. We may never even get a full answer as to what she may have been up to between the events of the two movies. Perhaps she was still fighting the same war when Thanos wiped out half of the universe. Kevin Feige had this to say about her absence.

“There’s no full flash back to the last 23 years [in Avengers: Endgame]… I don’t want to say anything about Endgame, but I will say, as established in this movie, she very much takes responsibility for places that are not Earth – in large part because Earth has Fury and the Avengers”.

What do you think of Kevin Feige’s answer? Are you looking forward to Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame? Share your thoughts below!

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law.
