Kevin Feige Confirms That Right Now It’s ‘Just Spidey’ Who Is A Part Of MCU

Kevin Feige Confirms That 'Just Spidey' Is In The MCU, No Venom. Spider-Man: Homecoming is first in trilogy for the character.

There has certainly been some confusion as of late regarding whether Venom and the Silver and Black film were a part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last week, Sony producer Amy Pascal mentioned that Peter Parker could possibly pop up in the upcoming Venom and Black and Silver movies, since they apparently belong to the same universe.

However, Feige had said that Venom would not be a part of the MCU and so on. So what was the truth? Was Spider-Man: Homecoming just meant to be somewhere in the middle, where Venom and Black Cat would exist in that world, but never interact with the rest of the MCU.

Speaking with JoBlo, Feige cleared up some of the confusion and re-confirmed that it was only Spider-Man who was a part of the MCU.

“Right now, Spidey is in the MCU and it’s just Spidey. Civil War, Homecoming, we’ve already shot a lot of Tom Holland’s scenes in the upcoming Avengers films, and we’re just starting to solidify our plans for Homecoming 2 – we won’t call it that, whatever it is – which is exciting because it’ll be the first MCU movie after untitled Avengers in 2019. It’ll be the way Civil War informed everything in Homecoming, those movies will launch him off into a very new cinematic universe at that point. Those five movies are we’re focusing on.”

Notice how he says “right now,” meaning we never know what the future may hold. Until that time, we’ll just have to wait and see. Spider-Man will also be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War and two other solo movies, the second one being released after the second part of Infinity War, so probably at some point in 2019.

What do you think? Is there still a chance that Venom could eventually appear in the MCU? Will Spider-Man actually appear in the Venom movie? Let us know in the comments below!
