Kevin Feige On How The X-Men & Fantastic Four May Be Introduced Into The MCU

During an interview with Fandango, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige commented on how they might introduce the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the MCU.

With the 20th Century Fox characters now under the control of Marvel Studios, including the X-Men an Fantastic Four, fans are eager to see what Kevin Feige and the team has planned for the iconic heroes’ introduction into the MCU. When asked if Marvel Studios might take the same approach to introduce the Fox characters that they did with Spider-Man and Black Panther, with both characters being introduced in supporting roles before landing their own standalone film, Kevin Feige noted such a plan was possible, though it depends on the specific story they are trying to tell:

“Yeah, maybe. You know, oftentimes it just comes down to a specific character in a specific story and a specific way to introduce them. So sometimes, like with Spider-Man and Black Panther, that made sense. Then, other times, with characters like Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Thor, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man… it’s fun to introduce them in their own movies first. So it just depends on the story we’re trying to tell.”

As for when Marvel Studios might bring the X-Men and Fantastic Four into its cinematic universe, it sounds like it could be quite a while:

“It’s still early days, but it’s been a fun exercise, and it’s one, by the way, that we’ve been doing for years.”

Fans will likely have a better understanding of what the future holds for the MCU and what Kevin Feige has planned for the Fox characters after Spider-Man: Far From Home officially concludes the third phase of Marvel Studios’ cinematic universe.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.
