Avengers: Endgame was an incredible experience for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, filled with crowd pleasing moments and payoffs for long-standing character arcs. Most recently filmmaker Kevin Smith discussed the scene in the Avengers: Endgame finale where Steve Rogers finally wields Mjolnir against Thanos. Kevin Smith said that the moment would give future generations divine inspiration. While it seemed like a light-hearted joke, some fans were quick to challenge the praise that the filmmaker was laying on the film by analysing a shot from the scene.
One fan on Twitter analyzed the shot that Kevin Smith was using to praise Avengers: Endgame, pulling apart the composition of the iconic moment. The filmmaker responded by reiterating that he was praising the Mjolnir scene and not that exact shot. Kevin Smith also went on to say that it would be misleading to critically analyze Endgame‘s shot composition since it was taken from a moving dolly shot.
