Zack Snyder had to leave Justice League due to a family tragedy. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, Joss Whedon came in to take his place. It was clear once Justice League was released that what Snyder had originally envisioned for this movie was drastically changed once Whedon took over. Since then, fans have been discussing about what this Snyder Cut could look like. Fans have been expressing their interest for a official release of the Snyder Cut but Warner Bros. have said nothing in response to it.
Kevin Smith, writer-director and famous comic book enthusiast, expressed his support in this campaign on his YouTube show with Marc Bernadin. Smith was very interested in seeing this version only if Warner Bros. would release it. Although this version was most likely a rough cut and the film was a disappointment at the box office, it’s no surprise the studio hasn’t said anything about releasing this version. However, both Smith and Bernadin stated that since there’s so much public interest the Snyder Cut could still make the studio a lot of money. It’s been over a year since the release of the movie and fans are still asking for a Snyder Cut. Perhaps this can be a good indicator to the studio that there’s enough interest for an official release. Until then, what Snyder had envisioned remains shrouded in mystery.
Directed by Zack Snyder, with post-production duties handled by Joss Whedon, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds. Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD.
