Kirsten Dunst Thinks Sony Is Milking The ‘Spider-Man’ Cash Cow

There have been three cinematic incarnations of Marvel’s Spider-Man. The first was a trilogy of films directed by Sam Raimi featuring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. The second iteration was a duo of films directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield. Now, Spidey has swung into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is played by Tom Holland – who will appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming directed by Jon Watts.

Kirsten Dunst, who portrayed Mary Jane Watson in the Raimi trilogy recently revealed her thoughts on the current state of the franchise. Dunst feels that the recent reboots of the webhead don’t measure up to the films she starred in:

We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, “You make it all you want.” They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?’

Dunst recently discussed that she had no interest in the new Spider-Man films. She expressed her pride in being part of the first cinematic adaptation of the hero.
