Sony Pictures is currently shooting its next standalone Marvel film, Morbius featuring Jared Leto as the titular Spider-Man villain. A photo captured on set in Manchester reveals what looks like a potential easter egg teasing the arrival of Kraven the Hunter. Check it out below!
It was announced last summer that Equalizer and Expendables 2 writer Richard Wenk is working on Sony’s standalone film centered around Kraven the Hunter. Wenk previously confirmed that his script will be an origin story of Sergei Kravinoff also known as Kraven the Hunter.
The film currently has no title, however, Wenk has said that he’s taken inspiration from the Kraven storyline Kraven’s Last Hunt. In the comic, the big game hunter dons the Spider-Man outfit and sets out to become a bigger, better version of the friendly neighborhood hero after he’s buried Peter Parker alive.
Fans were hoping to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man make an appearance in 2018’s Venom which ended up not happening, but Wenk has plans to see Kraven and Spidey meet face-to-face in his film somehow.
The untitled Kraven project is still in the early stages of development but Wenk says that there is no rush to put out a film that isn’t completely satisfying to fans who want to see Kraven the Hunter make his first appearance on the big screen. Although, we have heard that before haven’t we?
What do you think about the set photo? Could it be an easter egg teasing Kraven the Hunter or is it none other than a cleverly named bake shop truck to be featured in Jared Leto’s Morbius movie? Sound off in the comments section below!
