The film, which already includes the likes of Chris Evans and Daniel Craig, is being both directed and written by Rian Johnson, coming right off the heels of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and though the plot is currently being kept well under wraps, though according to Deadline, it will be a modern take on the classic “whodunit” mystery tales. Delightful, right? It remains to be seen what character Lakeith Stanfield will play and how he will factor into the narrative. The film is set to begin shooting sometime next year.
And Stanfield’s star has gotten brighter not just with Atlanta, Short Term 12, Get Out, and Sorry to Bother You, but he also has upcoming projects such as the A24 film Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler, as well as Netflix comedy Someone Great with Rosario Dawson. This will be another high profile project for him.
Other than that, what do you make of the news? Are you a fan of Lakeith Stanfield? And if so, are you excited to see him in a Rian Johnson film, possibly crossing paths with James Bond and Captain America themselves? Let us know in the comments below. In the meantime, you can catch Lakeith Stanfield on Atlanta, which airs on FX.
