Laura Harrier & Tony Revolori Join ’Spider-Man: Homecoming’

The cast for the upcoming Marvel and Sony team-up for Spider-Man: Homecoming is just continuing to expand. The Wrap broke the news that One Life to Live’s Laura Harrier has joined the upcoming reboot in a “significant role” as described by The Wrap. But the casting news doesn’t stop there as Deadline also broke the news that Tony Revolori, best known from Grand Budapest Hotel, has also joined the new Spider-Man film and will be playing the nemesis/enemy to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in High School, but he isn’t playing a villain though, per Deadline. Could he be playing Flash Thompson? Only time will tell, but it should be pointed out that The Wrap is saying that Revolori is playing Peter Parker’s friend “Manuel”.

This news follows the recent announcement that Michael Keaton is currently in early talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming as the villain as well as the official confirmation from Cinema Con this week about the film title. We also know that Zendaya will be playing the role of “Michelle” along with Marissa Tomei as Aunt May Parker. The film, which will star Holland as Marvel’s beloved web-slinger who is set to debut in Captain America: Civil War (opening next month), will be directed by Jon Watts and the screenplay was written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. The reboot is being produced by Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. Production is set to start sometime this year as it will feature the MCU’s take on Spider-Man in his high school years.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
