It seems that Legends of Tomorrow nearly included the original Alan Scott Green Lantern in the first season. Concept artist Andy Poon revealed that the Alan Scott Green Lantern was originally part of the the Justice Society storyline in Legends of Tomorrow, posting his art of the character on Instagram. Interestingly, the art uses Ryan Reynolds as the base for Alan Scott, giving fans an idea of what the actor could look like in a practical version of the Green Lantern costume.
Andy Poon explained that the Alan Scott Green Lantern was the first choice for an appearance in Legends of Tomorrow, but after half an hour of being tasked with creating the art, DC decided not to allow the character in the series. It isn’t clear why Alan Scott wasn’t allowed in Legends of Tomorrow, but the artist explained that he was changed to Hourman. Poon also mentioned that he chose Ryan Reynolds for the base since this wasn’t an animated suit and the star is from Vancouver, where the series shoots. Take a look at the concept art of Green Lantern below.
