‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 2 Has Wrapped

DC's Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz has announced that the time-traveling superhero series' second season has officially wrapped production.

Just one week ago, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim announced that production had begun on the series Season 2 finale, entitled “Aruba.” Well, today we have confirmation that the time-traveling superhero series has officially wrapped production on its sophomore season.

Legends of Tomorrow star Caity Lotz announced that the cast has wrapped shooting on her Instagram with a picture of most of the show’s cast, excluding Victor Garber (Martin Stein) and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Vixen/Amaya)

The Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Finale is set to air Tuesday, April 4th.

Upon his initial season finale announcement, Guggenheim also revealed that former Arrow star Katie Cassidy would return as (some version of) Laurel Lance, Wentworth Miller’s deceased character Captain Cold will somehow appear (we’ll probably learn more about how this works as the season continues) and that Jack Turner will appear as The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien.

Okay, so, it’s theory time. Cassidy’s return is confirmed and there are a number of ways this could work: time travel, dream sequences or hallucinations (Mick knows all about this). However, I think it has to do with the McGuffin of this season, the Spear of Destiny, with which one can rewrite reality. With Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the man who killed Laurel, as one of the big bads this season, he is a constant reminder of Sara’s dearly-departed sister. I’m betting that when the Legends finally recover the spear, Sara is tempted to use it to bring her sister back to life. If she actually succeeds in this, I’m hoping the writers take advantage of this of this opportunity to fix some of the many missteps the Arrow writers have made with the Laurel character over the years. Black Canary is one of my all-time favorite DC characters, so I would love for this show to find a way to bring her back and make her more like the Black Canary I love from the comics.

The next episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, entitled “Land of the Lost,” airs next Tuesday, March 7 at 9pm ET on The CW. Be sure to check back every Tuesday night after every episode of Legends for our episode reviews.
