To celebrate the home release of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. and DC threw quite the party at Dodger Stadium's Retired Number Plaza on Thursday night.
300 Intel drones flew around in the sky as part of a synchronized show that saw the LA skyline light-up with different images and phrases associated with the movie. The drone show was set to a live performance by Tina Guo, an accomplished cellist, as she played parts of the Wonder Woman theme.
The DC logo appeared first, but the drones quickly danced into other formations. Words like “Wisdom,” “Grace” and “Wonder” filled the sky before they arranged themselves into Wonder Woman’s logo and the iconic image of her kneeling, holding a sword from one of the film’s posters.
For those who weren’t lucky enough to attend, Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, took to Twitter to share a video of the festivities. You can check it out below along with another video from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
Meanwhile, WB’s plans for the Wonder Woman sequel are slowly coming together. Jenkins officially signed on to direct the project last week, becoming the highest paid female director of all time. Gadot is also set to return as the title hero when the film hits theaters December 13, 2019.
The film stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lisa Loven Kongsli as Menalippe, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Maru, Ewen Bremner as Charlie, Saïd Taghmaoui as Sameer and Eugene Brave Rock as the Chief. Here’s the official synopsis:
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers… and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman is currently available on digital platforms and will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the U.S. on September 19th.
