‘Avengers’ Star Linda Cardellini Open To Marvel Cinematic Universe Return

Avengers: Age of Ultron and Endgame star Linda Cardellini is open to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron introduced audiences to Linda Cardellini’s Laura Barton, the wife of Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton, a.k.a Hawkeye. While Cardellini’s role in Age of Ultron was brief, Laura returned to the big screen in the opening moments of last year’s Avengers: Endgame, with the character disappearing as a result of Thanos’ snap before coming back towards the film’s third act.

While doing the press rounds for the second season of her hit series Dead to Me!, Linda Cardellini spoke to Collider and revealed that she’s open to reprising her role as Laura Barton in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project. When asked if she’d like to see a standalone movie revolving around Laura, Cardellini said the following:

“I mean, you know, it was one of those things where I was sort of brought into the universe and it truly is its own universe. It’s its own entity with this fandom that is incredible and to be part of it is, I don’t know, it’s pretty fun. My daughter’s friends love it. It’s one of those kinds of things, you know? So it’s always fun. I mean, would I love to see a Laura Barton movie? Sure! But I don’t think that’s gonna happen. I think people are more interested in the superheroes.”

During last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton for a Disney Plus series that will introduce audiences to Kate Bishop. At the time, Renner’s Hawkeye series was expected to begin shooting sometime this year, but there’s a chance that this may no longer be the case due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Here is a plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo,  Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news surrounding Avengers: Endgame and the Marvel Cinematic Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for new video content!
