Lucasfilm Denies Rumors Of ‘Star Wars’ Spin-Offs Being Put On Hold

Lucasfilm has denied a report that a number of rumored but never officially announced 'Star Wars' spin-off films have been put "on hold".

Just yesterday, a report hit that a number of rumored but never actually announced Star Wars spin-off films were being put “on hold” by Lucasfilm. This report indicated that the films were being put on hold in order to put more focus on the upcoming Episode IX. However, it appears that there might have been some mixed signals or sources playing Jedi Mind Tricks when it came to this story.

ABC reached out to Lucasfilm sources who characterized these reports that the spin-off films had been put on hold following Solo: A Star Wars Story underperforming at the box office as “inaccurate”. Their sources then added the following:

“Lucasfilm told ABC News there are still “multiple” Star Wars films currently in development that have not been officially announced. Those projects are moving forward separate from an already-announced “Star Wars” trilogy being overseen by “The Last Jedi” director Rian Johnson and another series of movies from “Game of Thrones” producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.”

If this is indeed true, there’s a good chance that the rumored Obi-Wan film is still on track. It’s currently rumored that the film will shoot at the end of the year with the next Star Wars film going into production being next year’s Star Wars Episode IX which starts filming next month.
