‘Zombieland 2’ Adds Luke Wilson In Mystery Role

Variety reports Luke Wilson has joined the cast of Sony’s Zombieland: Double Tap.

Ten years after Zombieland was first released in theaters, our favorite zombie hunters will reunite in a long-awaited sequel that will also introduce newcomers to the post-apocalyptic world. Now, Luke Wilson has joined the cast of Zombieland: Double Tap, though details on his role have not been disclosed at this time.

Luke Wilson’s previous credits include The Royal Tenenbaums, Legally Blonde, and Old School.

Official plot details are currently under wraps, though the film is rumored to follow Tallahassee, Columbus, and Wichita as they embark on an adventure to rescue Little Rock after the group separates following a disagreement between Columbus and Wichita. On their journey, the group will encounter new zombies called Homers (dumb ones), Hawkings (smart ones), and Ninjas (deadly ones) while Tallahassee will be pit against a female zombie-hunter named Nevada.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, Zombieland: Double Tap stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia,  Thomas Middleditch, and Rosario Dawson.

Zombieland: Double Tap will be released in theatres on October 11, 2019.
