Lupita Nyong’o sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss her upcoming roles in Black Panther and Star Wars: Episode IX.
“an assistant was flown to my hotel, with a script in a locked contraption. It looked like something out of Star Wars. And he made me sign something and gave me instructions. I had a certain number of hours to read the script, and the assistant was just waiting, waiting in Morocco for me to finish reading so that he could put it in that locked thing and take it back.”
Max Kanata is one of the fan favorite characters from the new Star Wars trilogy. She had a huge role in The Force Awakens, but her role was cut much shorter in The Last Jedi. When asked if she’ll be back for Episode IX, Nyong’o replied:
“I don’t know yet, I’ll know soon.”
The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran, Lupita Nyong’o, and Andy Serkis. Here’s the official synopsis:
