M. Night Shyamalan Jokingly Responds To Oscars Best Picture Outcome

'Split' director M. Night Shyamalan humorously responds to the shocking Oscars Best Picture outcome between 'La La Land' and 'Moonlight'.

Tonight, one of the most shocking moments in Oscars history occurred. In what looked like to be an easy victory for awards frontrunner La La Land, it turns out that Hollywood legends Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway made an embarrassing mistake. In an incredibly awkward moment, Moonlight emerged victorious with the Best Picture award.

In a classy move by the producers of La La Land, they handed their awards to the true victors for Moonlight. This will undoubtedly become one of the most memorable moments in award show history.

Naturally, the man behind some of the most memorable twists in cinema had a say. Director M. Night Shyamalan took to Twitter, revealing that he may have written the events of this award show:

Shyamalan has been riding high thanks to the critical and commercial success of Split. He is currently working on his next project that would be a follow-up to his 2000 film Unbreakable. This tweet showcases how Shyamalan is self-aware of his public perception as the man who pulls the rug right from under the audience. It’s nice to see him bounce back after a few years of critical failures.

What did you guys think of tonight’s Oscars ceremony? Did Jimmy Kimmel do a good job as the host? Sound off in the comments below.

Split is in theaters now.
