Could the villainous Kaecilius return in a future Marvel movie? Doctor Strange star Mads Mikkelsen shares his thoughts after the jump.
In a new interview with CinemaBlend, Mads Mikkelsen revealed if he was keen to return to the role in an inevitable sequel:
“I don’t know. He was not looking too sharp in the end of this movie, but you never know.”
Of course, Mads Mikkelsen may be teasing us, but who knows? The MCU is such a vast and unique pool that we really have no clue on what could happen next. Unlike many MCU villains, Mikkelsen’s character was not killed off in his first appearance, which leaves the possibility of a return well and truly open. When Cinemablend’s Eric Eisenberg told Mikkelsen this, he responded:
“Yeah, it’s like [snaps] a blink of an eye away.”
So, what do you guys think? Would you like to see the Rogue One star return to the role? Personally, I found his character to be one of the film’s finest elements. If Mads Mikkelsen wanted to return in Avengers: Infinity War or Doctor Strange 2, you would not see me complaining!
Doctor Strange is in theatres now, but you can catch Mikkelsen in the upcoming Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One, which hits theatres on December 15.
