‘Man of Steel’: Watchmen Easter Egg Spotted With Henry Cavill’s Superman

Even though Man of Steel was released six years ago it appears fans keep spotting easter eggs in the film, in this case one involving Watchmen and Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Man of Steel soared into theaters in 2013 and was directed by Zack Snyder who also helmed the Watchmen film adaptation in 2009. What some thought could never be adapted into film, Zack Snyder took on that challenge and some fans have declared the Ultimate Cut of the film as a great adaptation of the incredible graphic novel. Zack Snyder seemed to care about the source material and he carried that with him for Man of Steel. Recently, a Reddit user shared a shot of a scene during Henry Cavill’s Superman debut that references Watchmen. You can view the post below.

As you can see during the battle at Metropolis as Zod and Superman begin to battle there is a scene in which Zod pushes a LexCorp fuel tanker towards Superman and right at the moment he flies over the fuel tanker to avoid it there is some graffiti art referencing the famous yellow smile pin with a blood stain from Watchmen. Zack Snyder is a director that seems to be well involved in his projects and hold much importance to referencing some of his previous work.

What do you think of this reference? Did you enjoy Man of Steel? Share your thoughts below!

A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe,  Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Shannon.

Man of Steel is available in 4K, Blu-Ray, and Digital HD.
