2018 has admittedly been a rough year for Star Wars following the polarizing fan reception to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the disappointing box office performance of Solo: A Star Wars Story and the elephant in the room that is the toxic aspects of the fandom has made things a bit difficult for the franchise. But thankfully, 2019 is a whole new year and another incredible opportunity for it to grow.
The Mandalorian is already exciting fans with some of the numerous set photos surfacing online as well as some of the announced directors involved. In particular, Pedro Pascal is incredibly excited to bring the series to life. On his official Instagram, Pascal shared some artwork from Star Wars animation guru Dave Filoni of the Mandalorian himself:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian does not have an official release date, however, the series is expected to debut with Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, which is expected to launch by the end of 2019.
