New Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) photos reveal a carnival set for Margot Robbie’s spin-off film.
As the days go by, filming and production on Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) also moves forward. We’ve shown you a lot of behind the scenes photos depicting Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, among others.
Now our focus shifts to one of the new sets they’ll be using for the film. This time, it seems the movie will show us a carnival or fair, which kind of reminds us of the last sequence between Batman and The Joker in Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke. Check them out by expanding the post below:
We can clearly see a Ferris wheel, a sign that says Orient Express which may be a nod to a comic storyline involving Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and an attraction that says Booby Trap which automatically reminds us of several times The Joker and his gang have used carnivals or fairs in deeply disturbing ways. Knowing that The Joker usually uses carnivals and fairs to set up Batman and other superheroes, it’s safe to assume that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will probably do the same against Black Mask and his associates.
What do you think this set is all about? What shenanigans is Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn up to? Sound off in the comment section down below!
Full details on the Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) plot are currently unknown, though the film is said to center on Huntress, Black Canary, and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn joining forces to protect Cassandra Cain when she comes into the possession of a diamond belonging to a criminal kingpin known as Black Mask.
Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, and Michael Masini have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
Aquaman, the DCEU’s latest movie, is now playing theaters. Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues in April with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
