Mark Hamill Reveals ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Wrap Date

Mark Hamill has revealed that Rian Johnson’s yet-to-be titled Star Wars: Episode VIII will wrap principal photography on July 22, 2016. The actor spilled the beans on his personal Twitter page after a fan asked him for Episode VIII spoilers. Here’s the tweet:

With San Diego Comic-Con taking place on July 21-24, it’s highly unlikely that the cast of the movie will be able to make it to the event this year. However, it has already been confirmed that Hamill will be in attendance at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 in London this July, so there’s a chance that the rest of the cast could be there as well.

Back in June, Hamill told Entertainment Weekly that he he wouldn’t be attending San Diego Comic-Con this year due to his hectic schedule:

“It doesn’t look like I’m gonna be able to make it this year, because of the shooting schedule here. I don’t get back until the third week in July. I wanted to go, because that’s where they’re gonna premiere The Killing Joke, and [Batman voice] Kevin Conroy is gonna be there. I’d love to see it with an audience. But it doesn’t look like my schedule’s gonna allow it this year. My major obligation right now, obviously, is to Episode VIII.”

Seeing as the title of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced shortly after the movie wrapped production, I wouldn’t be surprised if the title of Episode VIII was revealed at Star Wars Celebration in a couple of weeks. What do you guys think?
