Luke Skywalker Actor Mark Hamill Believes There May Be ‘Star Wars’ Fatigue

Star Wars star Mark Hamill has opened up more about his role as Luke Skywalker and the possibility of Star Wars fatigue.

Mark Hamill first joined in the adventures on a galaxy far far away in Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope, as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s new Jedi student. Throughout his time fighting the Empire Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker discovered more about the “force” and becoming a stronger Jedi. Mark Hamill last appeared as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi which was one of the franchise’s most divisive films. Mark Hamill has spoken about this and appears he has more to share about the apparent Star Wars fatigue. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Hamill shared his thoughts on the possibility of Star Wars fatigue. Here’s what Mark Hamill had to say about that.

“I’m not gonna tell them how to run their business, but is there a possibility of ‘Star Wars fatigue’? Yeah, I think there is. I’ve experienced it, to a certain degree.”

It appears Mark Hamill is with a couple of fans on this one. Mark Hamill believes that perhaps adapting new ideas to the Star Wars universe would be best for the franchise. However, he alleges that no one ever listens to his ideas:

“But they never listen to my ideas anyway, so who needs ’em?!”

Since Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi fans have become divisive within the fanbase with some praising the film for its unpredictable plot and others disagreeing with the way the plot went. Perhaps Mark Hamill is part of the group that wishes the Star Wars universe would have gone a different route. Even though it may have seemed as though Luke Skywalker passed on in the last film, Mark Hamill will return for Star Wars Episode IX to reprise his role once again. Perhaps, this time Mark Hamill will receive the sendoff he desired.

What do you think of Mark Hamill’s opinion on Star Wars fatigue? Are you looking forward to Star Wars Episode IX? How do you think Luke Skywalker will appear in the film? Share your thoughts below!

Directed by J. J.
