Mark Hamill has been critical of certain ideas about the Sequel Trilogy, but he's also making it clear that he loved Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Since Mark Hamill made comments about how he disagreed with Johnson’s vision for Luke Skywalker, there’s a certain subset of so-called “fans” haven’t let him live it down: a number of videos featured Hamill’s comments out of context and are edited in a manipulative way to suggest that he hates the new Star Wars movies. However, Hamill is looking to put a kibosh on those posts by saying that he couldn’t be happier to have worked with the director on the movie:
Meanwhile, Hamill responded to a fan’s sarcastic reply to this, which made fun of the false perception that he hated Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Just making sure that nobody was misled, Hamill explained that he never said anything of the sort and that the comments do not reflect his views:
Watching The Last Jedi, it’s not hard to see why Mark Hamill disagreed with some of the directions that Luke’s story was taken in. However, it should be safe to say that Hamill enjoyed coming back to revisit his character years later.
