Comic book writer Mark Millar took to Twitter today to announce a surprise sequel to his critically acclaimed series, 'Kingsman.'
As you can see the new comic series boasts a different title from the film sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle. This suggests the new series will likely proceed in an entirely different direction from the movie.
This wouldn’t be the first time Millar has participated in a dual comic / film launch for one of his properties. When the Kick-Ass comic series launched back in 2008, a film version was planned at the same time, but they were written as two distinctive entities, with appropriate changes where necessary. It looks like the Kingsman sequels are progressing in the same fashion, with both The Golden Circle and The Red Diamond releasing in September with divergent stories. It’ll be interesting to see how the the two Kingsman properties complement one another.
Directed by Matthew Vaughn, Kingsman: The Golden Circle releases in cinemas nationwide on September 22nd. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the upcoming movie and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
