Mark Ruffalo may be known for giving away spoilers during interviews or simply by mistake, but now the Avengers star has revealed how his Hulk almost died during the events of Avengers: Infinity War. The actor took over as the Hulk in The Avengers and has been playing the character throughout the MCU since. Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk in Avengers: Endgame, but it appears that his character almost died in the last movie. While speaking with Yahoo! Entertainment, the Avengers members who survived Thanos’ infamous snap shared their thoughts about Avengers: Infinity War, and Mark Ruffalo revealed that his character almost didn’t make it.
While being asked about the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Mark Ruffalo had this to share:
“I didn’t know until I saw the movie. For one take, I did disappear, and the other one I didn’t.”
Due to the way Avengers: Infinity War was filmed, Mark Ruffalo wasn’t sure if the Hulk would survive. The actor compared the Hulk’s chances of surviving to the television shows Survivor and Project Runway. Avengers: Infinity War had Thanos snap half of all life away in order to bring balance to the universe. Now, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will have to find a way to undo the damage caused by the Mad Titan.
