A wild rumor has been circulating the DC fan community on Instagram, suggesting Wallstrom may have been cast as The Flash villain in the long-in-development standalone film. Though this is just a rumor and does not come from a credible source, that won’t stop fans from having a little fun and imagining what the actor could look like as the evil speedster. Fan artist Skull101ify has given us an idea of how Wallstrom would appear in a yellow design based off of the suit worn by Ezra Miller’s The Flash in Justice League. Check it out below!
Production on The Flash movie remains in question as the project seems to have lost momentum at the studio. The film was expected to kick off production in March of next year, however, due to development of the script, the project would not be ready and filming was reportedly pushed back to the fall. This past week, production on Fantastic Beasts 3, which Flash actor Ezra Miller is contracted to star in, was also pushed back to the fall, possibly pushing production on the film to as late as early 2020.
Warner Bros. and DC Films are currently developing several projects, including The Batman, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Nightwing, Supergirl, Suicide Squad 2, New Gods, a Deathstroke film, and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director, James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Aquaman is now playing. The DCEU will continue next with Shazam! which will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019, and will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. The standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.
